Ration Card Rules Changed: The Government of India runs many schemes for the citizens of the country. Crores of people of the country get the benefit of these schemes. Most of the government schemes are for the poor and needy people. There are still many people like this in India. Those who do not have enough money and resources even for food.
The government provides ration to such people at low prices. For this, ration card is required. Only then can the benefit of the government’s low price ration scheme be availed. The Government of India has now changed the rules for ration card holders. Due to which now ration card holders will not get this thing.
Now rice will not be available
Earlier, the government used to give free rice every month to ration card holders. But now the government has stopped giving rice under the ration card scheme, now free rice will not be given to the ration card holders at the ration distribution centres. The government closed this facility. Let us tell you that 90 crore people of the country are taking advantage of the facility of low price ration on ration card. Now all of them will stop getting rice.
These things will be available instead of rice
The government has taken this decision to increase the nutritional level of citizens’ food and improve their health through the National Food Security Act (NFSA). Now when the government has stopped giving rice. So in its place other nutritious things will be given. Instead of rice, the government will now provide wheat, pulses, gram, sugar, salt, mustard oil, flour, soybean, and spices.
E-KYC is necessary
If you are a ration card holder and you are taking ration at low price or free under the government ration scheme. Then it is important for you to complete the e-KYC process. For this, you can go to your nearest ration shop and get the verification done by putting your thumb impression. In the order issued by the government, it has been made clear that the names of those who do not get e-KYC done will be removed from the ration card. Let us tell you that the date of e-KYC has been extended till 31 December 2024.
